The Jamaica Pegasus

Blend Bar

Looking for a sweet escape but without the commitment of a long journey? The Pegasus is an excellent bet. We visited the establishment on a Thursday evening around 4PM, the foot traffic in the lobby was minimal but you could hear the buzzing of business meetings and guests as well as staff passing by. The lobby provided a light airy relaxed feeling. Stepping into The “Blend Bar”, just to the right of the lobby, was like stepping into a lounge. It was dimly lit which provided for a very soothing ambiance. The seating may not be ideal for a formal get together as they were a bit more intimate catering more to small casual groups.
Their service time was impeccable they didn’t annoy us by checking on us too much also they didn’t need to be called upon at any time. The mixed drink “Pegasus Special” was an exquisite mix of flavours. While the blended drink “The flirty Lois” proved to be a bit lacking. The total bill was just a mere JM$1300 with tax and service charge.

24/7 cafe

After drinks we decided to have a bite to eat, we ordered a chicken wrap and a chicken panini served with a side of coleslaw. The “serving” of coleslaw was unexpected; it was about the size of a ketchup container you would receive with nuggets for dipping. The sandwiches were awesome and surprisingly filling; again this is a good option for budget conscious diners as both sandwiches were just JM$1900. One drawback to dining at the 24/7 Café is the openness and lack of variety and little privacy. This spot is not for persons looking to sit and mingle, just grab and go. Our sweet treats were two slices of cake, blueberry cheesecake and chocolate ganache. The cheesecake was a bit of a letdown as it was harder than the usual cheesecake. The chocolate ganache is perfect for chocolate lovers. Our only real complaint is the 45 minute waiting period for our bill after which we decided to get up and get it ourselves.

Referred to as "Kingston's Preferred Hotel”, the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel Is located at 81 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 5.In the heart of Jamaica’s business mecca stands the 17 floor structure which overlooks the Kingston Metropolitan Area( KMA). Over the past 37 years, the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel has earned the enviable reputation for superb hospitality and accommodation. "Home" to royalty, dignitaries, and celebrities, the hotel is also a constant buzz of activity for local clientele.
Overall it was a great experience. You definitely feel like a royal stepping unto the property not necessarily because of the staff but more so the aesthetics of the hotel. One suggestion is to offer open Wi-Fi in the dining areas.
